Ahhhhhhh. This book. I was blessed to be included on the launch team for “Becoming MomStrong,” by Heidi St. John, and it completely is an honor to be able to recommend it wholeheartedly to you.
I’ve had a burden on my heart for Truth lately. Truth – God’s Truth – is being minimized in the culture around us and it’s ticking me off. It seems like so many of us moms are running around like crazy women, chasing after this and that and spending time on things that don’t matter eternally. We’re distracted and it’s keeping us from doing important Kingdom work. And that makes my heart ache.
When we lose sight of what we’re doing and why, we are missing out on God’s eternal plan for our lives on this earth. The enemy wants women to be distracted, to let down our arms. We can’t do that.
This book is AMMO, mamas. I know I feel weak at times, like what I’m doing here at home is insignificant and too hard and not worth the effort. But in every chapter of this book I saw that those are lies straight from the enemy.
EVERY LITTLE THING matters. The mundane, ordinary things…it all matters. It’s so easy to minimize our days and feel like it’s all mundane and we’re not effective and that is simply not true. Moms, we have a special calling on our lives. It’s time we take it seriously.
It almost scares me to think of the responsibility we have been given to raise up the next generation of Christian warriors…but it scares me in a good way. I don’t want to drop the ball. I want to raise kids who are thinkers and doers and warriors for Christ. I want them to kick Satan’s butt. Our kids can do this…if WE rise to the challenge, get serious about our faith and the legacies we’re leaving, and show our kids what it means to be a follower of Christ and His Truth.
The message I LOVE throughout this book is the urging to get into God’s Word. Study the Bible. Uncover truth through it. Discover Him for yourself, every day. Consistently. It will change your life.
Don’t get me wrong – books are good and helpful and important in growing but the number one tool is the Bible. It’s all you need in order to grow and rise up to be MomStrong. Heidi St. John offers a free scripture writing challenge through her website and it’s a great way to get into the Word every day. You don’t have to spend hours in the Bible for it to change your life.
I want to buy a copy of this book for every mom I know. If you’re on my Christmas list, you’re probably getting a copy for Christmas. 😉 It releases TODAY! I hope you’ll get your hands on a copy of this book and read it, but if nothing else, read the Bible. Start today. Get strong.
